I am not a technical artist - Can Pipeline help my workflow?

Absolutly! If you are familier with the mess and clutter of managing a lot of versions of your work, and having files like "my_job_FINAL", "animation_FINAL_really_FINAL", "animation_FINAL_really_FINAL_2" etc, Then Pipeline is going to be your new best friend.

Can Pipeline folders structure be customised?

Yes! Pipeline has a dynamic project structure that allows you to craft your project tree depending on your production needs.

Can I open regular Maya projects in Pipeline?

Not really. Regular Maya projects can be very different from one another and will not make sense to Pipeline.
You can create a Pipeline project and build components from your existing Maya scenes.
Note that you will also need to copy all of the  scene's dependencies (textures, references) into the your new project.

Will my Pipeline beta projects open up on Pipeline 2?

Yes, during project loading you will be prompt that the projects settings file will be upgraded to v2. You will be able to open the project on Pipeline beta as well.
Original files will remain unchanged.

How can I use Pipeline to collaborate with my team?

If your team is situated on a single site, then simply save the project to the shared network drive. If you and your team are located on different sites, You can either use cloud sharing (Like Dropbox) or p2p sharing (Like Resillo Sync).
The second option is preffered, and will give you better administration tools.

After setting up your sharing method, you can assign users per project.
Users help keep track of who is creating and saving assets, and preventing other users from making administrative actions, like deleteing files.

Is there a way to share an assets library across projects?

Pipeline benifets from Maya's internal logic of relative folder structure, from the project's root forward, and does not support sharing of assets between projects (At this point).

Is it possible to install Pipeline in a different location then Maya scripts folder?

Yes. you can place the Pipeline folder anywhere, but you need to add the location to the python path environment variable, before starting Pipeline.

When working with Pipeline, can I still use Maya File > Save and Save as ?

Sure you can.

Can I Install Pipeline license on multiple computers?

Absolutely. The license is restricted to a single user - without any other limitations.

What are the trial version limitations?

The trial version is limited to 10 versions for each component.
